Alltech developed the new Alltima AQ HPLC column to address the problem traditional C18 columns have had with highly aqueous mobile phases.
Generally described as phase collapse, under highly aqueous mobile phases (>95% water) retention times decrease to the point where there is little if any retention for most analytes.
The Alltima AQ packing is manufactured with a hydrophilic endcap to overcome this problem.
It provides improved retention of polar compounds with mobile phases up to 100% aqueous for stable chromatography over extended periods of time. The material is available in 3æm and 5æm particle sizes and in a range of hardware formats to suit every application.
