The American Council of Independent Laboratories (Acil) microbiology and analytical chemistry section, chaired by John Szpylka of Medallion Laboratories, will sponsor a complimentary breakfast on Wednesday 14 July 2004 at the Institute of Food Technologists' annual meeting and food expo in Las Vegas.
The event will take place in the Las Vegas Hilton from 7:30 am to 9:00 am with guest speaker Jonathan DeVries, president, AOAC International, addressing 'The carbohydrate paradigm: from roughage to net carbs'.
Tom Zierenberg, Microbac Laboratories, Acil MAC section vice-chair, will discuss the position that Acil has taken on unfair government competition in BSE testing and Acil's recent filing of comments to argue for exempting labs from registering or sending prior notice when accepting samples for testing under the US Homeland Security Act (HSA).
This breakfast meeting has become an Acil tradition providing an educational and unique networking opportunity for Acil members and non-members alike.
Non-members are welcome and encouraged to take part in this event.
