With the reservoir, column is equilibrated with one buffer addition rather than requiring continual topping up, thereby enabling laboratory workers to spend time on more critical activities
Amersham Biosciences is launching a new buffer reservoir for its PD-10 disposable desalting columns to simplify the desalting process and remove the need for constant topping up when adding buffers during the equilibration stage.
The LabMate PD-10 buffer reservoir is a disposable funnel which, together with the volume above the filter of the PD-10 column holds 25ml enabling the equilibration stage of the PD-10 column to be completed more easily.
By using the LabMate buffer reservoir, the PD-10 column is equilibrated with one buffer addition, rather than requiring continual topping up with small volumes, thereby enabling laboratory workers to spend time on more critical activities.
The LabMate PD-10 buffer reservoir works in conjunction with PD-10 desalting columns, which contain Sephadex G-25 medium for group separation of high and low molecular weight substances.
Desalting with PD-10 columns is ideal for rapid clean-up or buffer exchange of samples between 1.5-2.5ml.
"The LabMate buffer reservoir demonstrates Amersham Biosciences's ability to react to its customers' needs," said Allan Simpson, vice president of laboratory separations at Amersham Biosciences. "Customers will really benefit from the time saved and the convenience of being able to add buffer to PD-10 columns in one simple step during equilibration".
The LabMate buffer reservoir is available now.
