New Deep Purple total protein stain offers up to eight-fold increased sensitivity in protein detection, claimed to be the most sensitive commercially-available stain
Amersham Biosciences announces the launch of its Deep Purple protein stain, which will enable scientists to detect and quantify proteins in gels more accurately and at greater quantities than ever before.
Deep Purple total protein stain is a fluorescent stain for the detection and visualisation of proteins in 1D and 2D gels.
The product offers up to eight times more sensitivity in protein detection, making it the most sensitive in-gel fluorescent total protein stain commercially available. Deep Purple gives proteomics customers the ability to detect more proteins with greater accuracy while eliminating the problem of uneven levels of background fluorescence, known as 'speckling'.
Building on Amersham Biosciences's comprehensive portfolio of proteomics products, Deep Purple provides a complete labelling and detection solution for every step of protein analysis, from sample preparation to mass spectrometry.
Deep Purple is compatible with Amersham's Typhoon imager as well as with other industry standard fluorescent scanners.
"Deep Purple offers outstanding accuracy, quality and value for money.
"It provides up to eight times more sensitivity than other commercially available fluorescent stains while offering clear uniform backgrounds at around 30% less cost than other products on the market," comments Richard Cumming, vice president proteomics product management at Amersham Biosciences.
"This further enhances our proteomics portfolio and helps ensure Amersham Biosciences continues to offer our customers industry-leading products."
