Cedip Infrared Systems' large format, high performance camera uses proprietary focal plane array detector technologies
At the recent SPIE Defense and Security Symposium held in Orlando USA, Cedip Infrared Systems reported high visitor traffic drawn by the international launch of several new products.
Particular interest was shown in the latest Emerald large format, high performance camera that uses proprietary focal plane array detector technologies.
The product was qualified by many visitors to the stand as one the best innovations at the show.
With a measured NETD of 15mK and delivering sharp and crisp images up to 100 images/second the Emerald offers best-of-class performance. Using advanced large format (640x512 pixel) InSb, HgCdTe and Quantum Well (QWIP) focal plane array technologies the Emerald is able to offer an infrared image at full TV-size format in both the MWIR (3-5um) and LWIR range (8 - 12um).
The Jade LR camera was also unvealed for the first time in North America and was of particular interest to visitors interested in long range detection and surveillance.Based around a novel trifocal design the Jade LR camera uses motorised lenses (25, 80 and 320 mm focal length), switchable by a single command, to provide optimal detection or recognition capabilities at distances ranging from 5 to 25 km.
