Molecular Probes' Zenon technology has revolutionised the fluorescent labelling of monoclonal Mouse antibodies.
Now Cambridge BioScience offers the same advanced technology for use with polyclonal Rabbit antibodies.
The new Zenon Rabbit IgG labelling kits provide a fast, versatile and reliable method for producing antibody conjugates, even with sub-microgram amounts of starting material (compared with 100 micrograms required by standard antibody labelling protocols).
Antibody conjugates formed using Zenon technology can be used to produce fluorescently labelled antibodies for any application where a directly labelled primary antibody is suitable.
This includes flow cytometry, imaging and high-throughput applications.
With Zenon kits a labelled antibody can be ready to use in just 5 minutes - a process which would normally take up to an hour. Zenon technology simplifies applications which were previously time consuming or impractical, such as the use of multiple rabbit-derived antibodies in the same staining protocol, at the same time avoids the problems of species cross-reactivity, which occur when labelling 2 or 3 targets by conventional techniques. Unlike chemical labelling, antibody labelling with Zenon does not require removal of exogenous proteins from the antibody, such as serum albumin or amine-containing buffers, prior to complex formation.
Zenon kits eliminate the need for several directly conjugated primary antibodies for multicolour experiments - variations in fluorescent colour combinations can be achieved simply by using a different Zenon reagent.
Zenon technology is quantitative with respect to the primary antibody, allowing the user to vary the amount of labelling to suit their particular need.
The Zenon Rabbit IgG Labelling Kits are available for labelling rabbit IgG antibodies with a large selection of premium fluorescent dyes, including the entire range of Alexa Fluor dyes, as well as conventional dyes, R-phycoerythrin, allophycocyanin, enzymes and biotin.
Zenon Tricolor Rabbit kits, each with a selection of three different Zenon rabbit IgG labelling reagents, are also available from Cambridge BioScience.
