Cambridge BioScience has been appointed UK distributor for PhosphoSolutions, specialist in phospho-specific antibodies, a key tool in the study of phosphoproteins
These antibodies recognise the protein only when it is in the activated or phosphorylated state, taking advantage of the sensitivity and selectivity afforded by immunochemical techniques, combined with potentially broad applications. Phosphoproteins are the key, functionally regulated proteins in the proteome.
They are thought to be critical elements in neurological diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, and in cancer.
Detection and quantitation of changes in the phosphorylation state of specific proteins is of great use in establishing the function of a given protein and the consequences of its reversible phosphorylation.
Products available include: phospho-specific antibodies for neuroscience and cancer research; pan-specific antibodies for neuroscience research; and purified protein kinases/signal transduction products.
These products are available from Cambridge BioScience in the UK and Ireland only.
