Dual gradient system provides powerful identification of peptides for pharmaceutical, research and other applications and can increse throughput by 100%
Dionex has introduced a new dual gradient capillary/nano LC system that allows for parallel capillary/nano LC separations. The dual gradient system provides powerful identification of peptides for pharmaceutical, research and other applications.
By coupling this system to NanoSpray/MS, the throughput of the MS can be increased by about 100%.
The system consists of two micropumps, both capable of gradient flow rates as low as 50nL/min.
A typical nano LC separations consists of a 30min gradient, with 10 to 15 minutes for equilibration and 0 to 5 minutes for sample loading.
Analytes such as peptides are eluted only during the course of the gradient, usually 10-50% of the organic modifier (eg, acetonitrile).
This reduces the total MS analysis time by about 50% for the identification of peptides. Using the dual gradient UltiMate System, the time traditionally required for loading and equilibration can be used for running a second sample, and the time traditionally required for MS acquisition is no longer a consideration.
Consequently, MS throughput can increase up to 100%.
