Btex trace impurities are key targets for environmental monitoring, and are of critical importance to CO2 manufacturers and the carbonated beverage industry
Gow-Mac introduces its latest process instrument, the series 200 Btex analyser.
The aromatic hydrocarbons benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, o-xylene, m-xylene, and p-xylene (collectively referred to as Btex) as trace impurities, are key targets of importance with respect to environmental monitoring, but are of critical importance to carbon dioxide (CO2) manufacturers and the carbonated beverage industry.
The series 200 Btex meets all ISBT Method 12.0 criteria for selective measurement of Btex in carbon dioxide.
Continuous stream or batch sampling operations are readily performed.
The series 200 Btex has been developed for both the CO2 producer and the beverage bottler.
It can accept samples from a variety of sources (cylinders, bulk tanks, trucks, rail cars) and perform continuous, unattended sampling and analysis.
All maintenance activities are modular and easy to perform.
The series 200 Btex is specifically designed as a rugged, low cost, low maintenance, simple to operate, turn-key system.
No cylinder support gases are needed.
Calibration and sample introduction are totally automated.
A newly designed photoionisation detector (PID) and proprietary technology are used for the specific measurement of Btex without interference from other potential impurities in beverage-grade CO2.
Detector response is linear over three orders of magnitude.
The lower detectable limit of the BTEX components is <5ppb, well below the ISBT guideline limit of 20ppb.
Benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, o-xylene, m-xylene, and p-xylene are speciated, captured, compared against a previous (automatic) standard calibration run, and the value is read from the instrument panel. Btex is speciated and captured in approximately 12 minutes, interference free.
Gow-Mac's series 200 Btex system is also capable of PC-based control and data logging.
Full documentation is provided, along with optional customer training and support services.
