Genetix has launched a new hybrid bed option designed to complement its medium-throughput, fully featured QArray2 microarray platform
The new hybrid bed option allows the flexibility to array either into 16 microtitre plates or onto 32 conventional glass slides on the same instrument.
This unique bed design can hold either a standard SBS dimension microplate or two standard slides within a single destination footprint, allowing the flexibility to array onto both these formats on a single platform.
The new hybrid bed option was launched in response to the increasing interest in printing DNA or protein arrays into 96- or 384-well microplates, especially for application areas such as drug screening and clinical sample testing.
This format has certain advantages over arraying onto slides in terms of ease of automation of the downstream array processing, higher-throughput parallel analysis of samples, in addition to savings in terms of cost and time.
