New grips for testing equipment designed to evaluate mechanical properties of materials and components should ensure repeatability of test results
Instron, a provider of testing equipment designed to evaluate mechanical properties of materials and components, expands its range of testing grips.
Ideally suited for the metals, plastics and composites industries, Instron's line of grips includes wedge grips, axial/torsional hydraulic grips, and fatigue-rated hydraulic wedge grips.
Instron's wedge grips are designed to perform tensile, static and tension cyclic tests.
To avoid specimen buckling, these wedge grips are designed to pre-select the exact point where the specimen will be held so no compressive force is applied.
To ensure accurate testing, grip faces remain in a fixed position and do not recoil or loosen when the specimen ruptures.
The fatigue-rated hydraulic wedge grips are designed to be used in static, dynamic, and reverse stress applications.
They are available in axial-only and axial/torsional versions.
The unique side entry design ensures easy specimen loading.
To guarantee repeatable test results, these grips utilise hydraulic fluid to open and close the grip faces.
