Wildcards are ideal for applications requiring multiple I/O points, high resolution, data acquisition and real-time control
A new family of stackable I/O modules is available from Mosaic Industries to further expand the control capabilities of its C-programmable embedded computers and touchscreen-controlled operator interfaces.
The new expansion modules, Wildcards, are ideal for applications requiring multiple I/O points, high resolution, data acquisition and real-time control.
These modular 2x2.5 plug-in boards can be mixed and matched to create specialised I/O customised to particular applications.
The Wildcards provide an unprecedented I/O density for instrumentation and automation projects, where cost and physical size are critical.
The Wildcard expansion modules are available for: 24-bit sigma-delta analogue-to-digital conversion, RS-485 communications, 16-bit A/D and 12-bit D/A conversion, opto-isolated control of DC and AC loads, high voltage switching, and removable mass memory.
Up to eight Wildcards may be connected at once providing up to 56 24-bit A/D inputs, 160 programmable digital I/O lines, 32 AC control lines, or 24 DC control lines. All Wildcards include pre-coded device drivers providing full high level access to their functions using either the C or Forth programming languages.
Pre-coded I/O drivers facilitate data acquisition, pulse width modulation, motor control, frequency measurement, data analysis, analogue control, and communications. Mosaic's embedded controllers and Wildcard series promote a high level of software/hardware integration for rapid prototyping of new products.
The Wildcards are available now, prices range from $50 to $150 per unit with substantial volume discounts.
