Mounts provide high performance for large precision optics such as off-axis paraboloids and spherical or flat mirrors in applications where stability of pointing is important
Two new technical data sheets have been announced by Optical Surfaces detailing its comprehensive range of precision optical mounts.
The OS 300-600 series mounts provide high performance for large precision optics such as off-axis paraboloids and spherical or flat mirrors in applications where stability of pointing is important.
The robust OS 300-600 mounts are available in four standard sizes giving optical apertures from 305mm (12 inches) to 550mm (21.6 inches).
To ensure operational versatility and flexibility all mounts provide precise micrometer screw adjustment about both vertical and horizontal axes.
Various motorised mount options are also available to suit applications in hostile environments or where limited space makes manual adjustment difficult.
For applications involving optics up to 250mm in diameter, Optical Surfaces's range of Gimbal Mirror Mounts provide a secure and stable platform for off-axis, spherical or flat mirrors up to 250mm in diameter.
Built to accommodate 100, 150, 200 and 250mm diameter mirrors the mounts are made from anodised aluminium castings, finished in black.
To facilitate rapid and simple mounting onto an optical table or other support the mounts come with a base plate.
Angular alignment can be made about two axes by means of dual action adjusters with fine screw and ultra-fine differential micrometer action.
Using these mounts it is possible to rapidly align a mirror within a few arc seconds.
