Certified reference materials for UV and visible spectrophotometry include sealed-in-cell liquid wavelength and absorbance and a sodium nitrite cut-off solution
Responding to requests from the pharmaceutical and biochemicals sectors, Starna has recently extended the scope of its ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation to include a number of new certified reference materials for UV and visible spectrophotometry.
These include sealed-in-cell liquid wavelength and absorbance standards for use at wavelengths down to 200nm, and a new sodium nitrite cut-off solution for estimating stray light at 340nm.
Starna supplies a wide range of liquid reference materials and calibration filters and also provides an accredited recalibration service for its own products and those of other manufacturers.
A laboratory seeking to comply with GLP, ISO 9001 and similar quality standards must demonstrate 'evidence of control', and show that any calibration standards used are not only traceable to national or international primary standards but are obtained from an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited supplier. Starna has held this accreditation since June 2001, via the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (Ukas).
Reference materials and measurements certified by the Starna laboratory will be accepted by standardisation bodies in the 28 countries signatory to the Ilac agreement (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation).
