The latest issue of Culture, a magazine from Oxoid that provides an international publishing forum for papers on microbiology, is now available.
In this issue Eric Bridson looks back at the great influenza pandemic of 1918 in the light of the recent Sars outbreaks, and Eric May of the Schools of Biological Sciences, University of Portsmouth, looks at how micro-organisms play a crucial role in mineral transformation in the nature environment, notably in the formation of soils from rocks and the cycling of elements such as nitrogen and sulphur.
