Oxoid's diagnostic reagents will now be supplied in safer, easy-to-use plastic bottles.
This is to eliminate glass from the kits, and the associated injury risks, and to help meet EU regulations for producer responsibility obligations (packaging waste).
The new plastic bottles will be incorporated into the Oxoid kits for campylobacter, E coli O157, helicobacter pylori, infectious mononucleosis, legionella, staphylococcus aureus (including MRSA), streptococcal groups and syphilis.
Oxoid diagnostic reagents are a wide range of rapid and reliable latex agglutination kits.
Based on highly specific antibody technology, the latex reagents provide a clearly visible result within minutes.
The range also includes DrySpot kits, in which the reagents have been pre-applied and dried onto the reaction cards, simply requiring the addition of sample.
