Simple, quick, and convenient method of testing chemical oxygen demand which conforms to the new ISO standard on sealed-tube COD testing
The Palintest Tubetest system offers a simple, quick, and convenient method of testing chemical oxygen demand (COD) which conforms to the new ISO standard on sealed-tube COD testing (BS ISO 15705:2002).
The COD test is vital for assessing the quality of effluents and wastewater prior to discharge.
The liquid reagents are supplied pre-measured in labelled, disposable test tubes, and Palintest's Photometer 8000 provides instant test recognition and reading, for accurate results.
The labelled tubes carry a barcode that is automatically recognised by the Photometer 8000.
Following digestion, the tube is simply inserted into the instrument, and the photometer recognises the analysis (in this case COD) and the concentration range, providing an instant result.
The tubes are also clearly labelled with the range and hazard warnings, as required by the new standard.
The Photometer 8000 has an intuitive, menu-driven interface and up to 1000 test results can be logged with a record of the time, date and sample number.
This can be downloaded to a computer (or printer) so trends can be monitored.
The unit can also be operated via computer so the user need not touch the instrument at all, other than to switch it on.
With the Palintest Tubetest system the reagents are supplied premixed and predispensed into borosilicate glass test tubes, which reduces contact with potentially hazardous chemicals to a minimum.
Palintest is also a licensed waste handler, and provides a collection service to its customers for the safe collection and responsible disposal of used tubes.
