PerkinElmer has announced the launch of the Spectrum Spotlight 200, a revolutionary FT-IR spectroscopy system that, it says, redefines infrared microscopy by taking it to new levels of performance, speed, applications capability and upgradeability convenience.
The Spotlight 200 is described as not only the best-in-class IR microscope system, but it also provides a smooth and rapid transition path to chemical imaging.

The exclusive detector design delivers outstanding sensitivity, spatial resolution and greater spectral range allowing measurements on small or complex samples that were previously impossible.
The extremely high signal-to-noise possible with the Spectrum Spotlight 200 allows laboratories to attain the same performance of other commercially available FT-IR microscopes in significantly shorter analysis times.
The automation and fully integrated Spotlight software eliminates time consuming manual adjustments and speeds operation providing faster analyses.
The system also includes the Spectrum One FT-IR spectrometer, which provides a versatile platform for a wide range of macro-sample types and hybrid IR techniques.
The Spectrum Spotlight 200 can be easily upgraded to what PerkinElmer calls the gold standard in FT-IR imaging, the Spectrum Spotlight 300.
