PC-based light source characterisation database contains the full spatial light output distributions for a wide range of lamps and LEDs
Radiant Source Models from Radiant Imaging is now available from Pro-Lite Technology.
Radiant Source Models is a PC-based light source characterisation database which contains the full spatial light output distributions for a wide range of lamps and LEDs. Optical sources are measured using the firm's source imaging goniophotometer and the results compressed in a single, ready-to-raytrace data file which models the radiance (luminance) and colour of the source from any perspective (viewing angle). Computer simulations using optical raytracing saves time and money.
However, raytracing results are only as good as the data used as input.
Inaccurate predictions result from using theoretical source models.
The Radiant Source Models database allows optical designers to add real-life source output data as input to optical ray-tracing programmes to improve the accuracy of predictive computer models of optical systems and reduce development costs and time to market.
Radiant Source Models is compatible with the industry's leading optical design and ray-tracing software packages, including Asap, LightTools, Speos, Solstis, TracePro, Oslo, Zemax, Opticad, Apilux, and LucidShape. Radiant Source Models for specific lamps and LEDs are available individually or as a complete library.
A free demonstration CD is available from Pro-Lite.
Customers' own lamps and LEDs can be submitted for testing and inclusion in the Radiant Source Model library.
