The WaveMaster measures the wavelength of both CW and pulsed lasers of any repetition rate (including single shot).
The operational mode can be changed from CW, to CW with averaging, to pulse.
Peak wavelength can be measured for sources as wide as 2nm in the range 380nm-1095nm although bandwidths up to 5nm can be accommodated at the longer wavelengths.
The wavelength can be displayed in GHz, wavenumbers, or nanometers with vacuum and air readings available.
Using self monitoring algorithms and an internal spectral line source the WaveMaster auto calibrates its internal spectrometer to maintain an accuracy of 0.005nm.
The resolution available is 0.001nm.
The WaveMaster is a fully portable unit (281x105x352mm) using either AC or battery power and has a large backlit display for easy viewing.
Communication is available via the built in RS232 or optional GPIB interface. Once the unit is switched on it takes just ten seconds to warm up, and measurements can be taken for beams within 10deg of normal incidence to the sampling probe.
Most intensity variations are accounted for automatically, but there is a front panel attenuator and analogue intensity readout for quick set up. Configuration settings are stored in the memory and retrieved on start up.
There are no special triggering modes or setup required for pulse capture.
The WaveMate offers a lower cost solution for wavelength measurement of both CW and pulsed lasers from 450nm-1000nm and is said to be suited to monitoring tunable lasers and laser diode stability.
The WaveMate can measure wavelengths to an accuracy of +/-0.5nm (CW), +/-1.0nm (pulsed) and has a resolution of up to 0.01nm.
The unit has a high sensitivity (20uW CW at 633nm, 10uJ pulsed) and 1000:1 dynamic range.
WaveMate's detector head design incorporates a temperature-stabilised, dual-wavelength response sensor element with built-in variable attenuator, AutoBlock background reference shutter, and a background-limiting, alignment-insensitive, 4mm beam input port.
WaveMate's compact microprocessor-control unit (155x70x205mm) provides menu-selectable functions, including measurement averaging, single pulse sample-and-hold, wavelength difference display mode, signal integration, and background zero-offset calibration.
