The X-Cite 120 is a new product from Exfo, designed to make fluorescence applications easier and more productive than ever. Based around a powerful 120W metal halide lamp, this system guarantees a lamp life of up to five times times that of a conventional mercury lamp - without the usual drop off in intensity.
This is achieved by the halogens in the metal halide lamp continually removing deposits from the bulb, which in an HBO lamp would build up and reduce light intensity.
As well as providing a bright and uniform image across the whole spectrum, this lamp is even pre-aligned to make life easier.
Just simply snap in and let the specifically designed lamp adapter do the rest.
Each adapter is made to align the light for the most popular microscope manufactures such as Olympus, Nikon, Zeiss and Leica.
For further convenience, the system comes with an optional adjustable iris which is beneficial in applications where photo-bleaching is a concern.
