Science Marketing International (SMI) has introduced a new range of flash chromatography apparatus and cartridges with particular emphasis on safety
Manufactured by Gyan, the JaiFlash system incorporates a number of safety features including a pressurised reservoir to take standard 2.5 or 4 litre solvent bottles, an instant pressure release safety valve and fully controllable air pressure.
The system can utilise cartridges of 12mm, 26mm or 40mm diameters.
A single, simple holder allows 26mm or 40mm cartridges of any length to be used without the need to add new, additional holders for each cartridge type.
The JaiFlash system also includes a new range of flash cartridges.
Available in all standard sizes, the cartridges are moulded as a single piece eliminating any leakage problems.
They are packed with normal phase silica or a variety of reverse phase packings and may be used on existing flash systems from other manufacturers.
The JaiFlash product is complemented by 'introduction' level flash systems for those users looking to move from traditional column chromatography to flash cartridges, and a mid-level system for users who already have their own solvent delivery system.
