New device extends the capabilities of ultrasonic spectrometry for use in a wide range of laboratories from pharmaceutical to cosmetics
Following the successful launch of its flagship ultrasonic spectrometer the HR-US 101, Ultrasonic Scientific introduces the HR-US 102 SS.
The HR-US 102 SS extends the capabilities of the technology for use in a wide range of laboratories from pharmaceutical to cosmetics, the HR-US 102 SS features two specialised cells for analysing semi-solid materials, one cell is of volume 3ml with the second being of volume 1.5ml.
Each cell can be used to analysis a raft of materials including biological cells, pastes, waxes, fats, gels, suspension and emulsions and highly attenuating samples.
Types of analysis which can be monitored using this instrument are molecular structural changes, elasticity, thermal transitions, chemical reactions, aggregation, crystallisation etc.
Technical parameters of the instrument include: frequency range from 2.5MHz to 18MHz (cells with extended frequency range are available on request), high resolution and reproducibility (down 10-5% for velocity and 0.2% attenuation), temperature range -20C to 120C, absolute temperature control down to 0.01C.
It offers a variety of measurement regimes: temperature ramp mode, kinetic mode, multi-frequency mode.
In addition the HR-US 102 SS has an interface with external cells.
