Gravity solvent absorption concentrators are suited for the concentration of urine or CSF proteins prior to protein electrophoresis in diagnosis and as disease markers
Vivascience has introduced to the market two new gravity solvent absorption concentrators, the Vivapore Q5 and Vivapore Q10.
These two new concentrators, in an eight test block (four per side) format are suited for the concentration of urine or CSF proteins prior to protein electrophoresis in diagnosis and as disease markers for multiple myeloma or other forms of bone marrow or blood-forming organ cancers.
Vivapore Q5 and Q10 concentrate 5ml and 10 ml samples respectively by gravity, making them ideal for use in concentrating Bence-Jones proteins for urine analysis. Vivapore Q10 can be expanded to a 20ml volume utilising the 10ml Vivapore sample accessory.
A feature of both concentrators is the increased sample opening from 2.2 to 4.85mm diameter, which facilitates sample application and recovery, but more importantly, means that a plastic Pasteur pipette can be used rather than a glass pipette, offering a major benefit in a clinical laboratory environment.
