Linex is a second generation liner exchanger for direct thermal desorption GC.
With this technique the head of the Optic injector is opened, the liner containing the sample is introduced, and the injector head is closed.
The liner is purged with carrier gas, heated and analysis is started.
Linex can be used on any GC and when combined with a Focus/CombiPal.
The technique can be fully automated with the possibility of loading over 100 samples on the instrument.
Sample possibilities for the system are solids and gaseous enriched samples.
After insertion of a micro vial the technique can also be used for samples with a difficult matrix and for those that need derivitisation.
The advantages of Linex are that only one injector is required and there is no transfer line or liner transport adaptor.
It is also easy with Linex to switch between the DTD and liquid injections, simply by inserting a normal liquid liner.
