Controller is designed to allow for rapid implementation of stepper motors in products requiring automation
Servotechnic announces the new Lin Engineering Silverpak C integrated stepper motor and controller.
The Simple Step 17 controller is designed to allow for rapid implementation of stepper motors in products requiring automation.
This is a fully intelligent controller, integrated into the back of a stepper motor.
Commands can be issued from any serial terminal programme (such as Hyper Terminal) or from the Simple Step Windows application.
The commands are intuitive and simple, says the company.
For example the command A10000 will move the motor to absolute position 10000.
This communications protocol is compatible with devices that use the Cavro DT or OEM protocol.
The Simple Step is also capable of stand alone operation with no connection to a PC.
It can be set to execute a preset string of commands upon power up (therefore only power is required in this mode).
Commands include nested loops and execution halt pending a switch closure.
Steps per revolution 200, 400, 800 and 1600.
Current up to 1.5A/phase peak.
Voltage from 12 to 40V DC.
Maximum step frequency 20kHz.
Applications include robotics, packaging machines, semiconductor machinery, laboratory automation and lifesciences.
