Fast, microplate-based system integrates confluence determination, expansion, stratification and cherry picking with automated plate tracking and data management
Genetix announces the launch of its novel mammalian cell-line management system, CloneSelect.
Designed as a lab-scale system, CloneSelect offers scientists a fast, microplate-based system that integrates confluence determination, expansion, stratification and cherry picking with automated plate tracking and data management.
CloneSelect incorporates innovative image analysis for fully automated confluence determination, and on-board liquid handling capable of executing all steps of the cell dissociation process, including media changing for suspended cells and sub-cloning with trypsinisation for adherent cells.
Filtered tips provide efficient recovery, resuspension and seeding into a new plate.
An integrated bar code reader enables the tracking of source, replicate and subsequent daughter plates and all data generated by CloneSelect is compatible with common Lims systems, says Genetix.
The system can handle 1-, 6-, 24- and 96-well plate formats.
Optimal performance is achieved using optically enhanced Genetix PetriWell plates.
Ian Taylor, business manager at Genetix, commented, "CloneSelect is a very exciting development.
"For the first time, an individual scientist has complete control over stable cell line generation, management and scale-up optimisation using a single, integrated platform.
"The system meets the need for increased productivity and improved efficiency, and at the same time ensures an individual maintains personal control over decisions."
