Thermo Electron has combined its HiperTOC and ECS analysers to enable TOC and TOX analyses to be carried out on the same software platform.
According to US and European legislation, when performing organic halogens (TOX/AOX) analyses, samples should also be measured for total organic carbon (TOC).
In response, Thermo Electron has now combined its HiperTOC and ECS analysers to enable TOC and TOX analyses to be carried out on the same software platform.
Thermo says that this provides scientists working in the chemical industry, and contract and governmental laboratories, with an efficient yet high quality method for measuring environmental screening parameters.
In order to reduce the costs associated with labour intensive screening parameters, high levels of automation and minimal training are becoming more important.
By having two analysers working on the same software platform, Thermo has created reliable and highly automated systems that are easy to use.
This results in less training and peace of mind for the laboratory manager.
There is also the capability of a combined service contract that will yield less down time.
The HiperTOC is described as a unique TOC bench-top analyser, featuring four different oxidation techniques for improved versatility and productivity.
The ECS coulometric analysers have been developed for fast and accurate measurement of organic halogens parameters such as TOX/AOX, EOX and POX in a wide range of water and solids samples.
