Breathing air filter units convert instrument air to breathing air providing a quality air supply for masks and ventilated suits in nuclear, chemical, military, waste and other industrial applications
There are two models in the new range, the BQR 50 has a maximum outflow of 850nl/min and can supply sufficient breathing air for four masks or two half suits or one ventilated suit; while the BQR 150 has a maximum flow rate of 2500nl/min and can supply eight masks or six half suits or four ventilated suits.
The units operate without electricity.
Both units are compact, portable and ergonomically designed, employing a two stage filter system to convert 'instrument air' into 'breathing air' meeting the requirements of European Standard EN 12021.
The standard BQR unit does not filter CO and CO2; units with this capability are available on request.
The BQR units contain two separate filter stages.
The first stage, submicronic filter, blocks solid particles down to 0.01, the second stage active carbon filter, stops oil vapour and mist down to 0.005mg/m3.
A flow regulator and pressure gauge monitors the unit's performance, a warning red light indicates if the filter is becoming clogged up on the BQR 50; on the BQR 150 a differential pressure gauge provides this warning.
It is recommended that the submicronic filter is changed once per year and the second stage active carbon filter twice per year.
Quick and automatic, secure connections of breathing lines to the BQR filter units can be made by using Staubli's AQR range of couplings; up to four lines can be connected.
The AQR connector has been specifically designed for use in the supply of breathing air to personal protection equipment, masks, half suits and ventilated suits.
Disconnection requires the connector plug to be pushed towards the socket in a definite action and then pressing on the release button to safely disconnect the coupling; conforming precisely to the safety requirements of the latest BS EN 139 Standard.
Both the new BQR units and the AQR range are part of the growing portfolio of Staubli products specifically designed for breathing air applications, the full range now comprises filter units, hoses, plugs and sockets; giving Staubli the ability to supply the complete breathing air system.
