Outfitted with an optional torsion actuator, the Expert 26xx tension/compression machines are able to push or pull and twist simultaneously
Admet, a provider of integrated materials testing systems, is adding biaxial testing (tension/compression and torsion) capabilities to its Expert 26xx line of universal testing machines (UTMs).
Outfitted with an optional torsion actuator, the Expert 26xx tension/compression machines are able to push or pull and twist simultaneously.
The dual-column, electromechanical universal testing machines range from 5kN (1125 lbf) to 50kN (10,000 lbf) in tabletop configurations, and 50kN to 150kN (30,000 lbf) in floor-standing models.
The 26xx machine, in its biaxial configuration, offers torsion actuators that work with both Admet's eP digital controller and MTwist Microsoft Windows-based torsion testing system.
"As our customers' testing requirements become more sophisticated, Admet is striving to keep pace with their growing demands," said Richard Gedney, Admet founder and president.
"An Expert 26xx UTM equipped with a torsion actuator is one indication of our willingness and ability to meet these demands".
The Expert 26xx line provides low-cost, accurate compression, tension, flexure and now torsion testing of biomaterials, elastomers, films, foils, metals, packaging, plastics, textiles and wire products and structural components.
The torsion capability is expected to find ready acceptance for medical and plastics testing applications.
Expert 26xx machines feature a fast-acting servo motor and twin ball-screws for superior axial alignment, stiffness and crosshead guidance.
The floor-standing models have wide-column spacing to accommodate large and specialized grips and fixtures, as well as large parts and structures.
Admet's Expert 26xx machines with biaxial actuators are available immediately directly from Admet and through Admet representatives.
Biaxial testing options are available for all models in the Expert 26xx line.
Admet test frames meet or exceed several ASTM, BS EN ISO, DIN 51221 and JIS standards.
Admet also offers a full line of tension and torsion grips and fixtures for the Expert 26xx line.
