Industrial endoscope employs multiple glass rod technology that both improves optical performance and lowers cost of construction
Moritex Europe, a manufacturer of fibre optic illumination and optical lensing systems for machine vision and inspection applications, has announced a new addition to its range of industrial endoscopes.
The Bore scope is said to offer ease of use and unrivalled cost performance for visual inspection of cavities and hollow spaces.
Unlike many competitive products that use a series of miniature lenses to relay light, the Bore scope employs multiple glass rod technology that both improves optical performance and lowers cost of construction.
The result is a high performance inspection tool that will find wide utility in applications including inspection of engines, pistons, door lock mechanisms, turbine blades, die holes and small arms (chambers and bullets).
The new Bore scope incorporates proprietary Endogrins rod lenses produced by a novel ion exchange process. Using this advanced manufacturing process in combination with Moritex's patented colour aberration balancing technology removes almost all deterioration of image quality that is found in traditional designs due to lens distortions and blurring.
The ability to focus on objects an arbitrary distance from the scope tip further increases ease of use and also enhances operational productivity.
The Bore scope comes standard with side-view adapter, adjustable light intensity and long-life battery handle. A range of optional accessories including digital camera adapter, light guides, lighting systems and C-mount adapters for CCD cameras further increase the versatility of the product.
