Workstations and kits using magnetic-particle technology automate the simultaneous preparation of up to 15 or 96 samples and are suitable for a wide range of applications
BioSprint workstations and kits from Qiagen provide rapid and cost-efficient sample preparation for a wide range of applications, says the company.
Using magnetic-particle technology, BioSprint workstations automate the simultaneous preparation of up to 15 or 96 samples.
The first kit available in the expanding range enables purification of genomic DNA from cells, tissue, and blood.
Two workstations with different throughputs are available: the BioSprint 15 and the BioSprint 96 for processing 1-15 and 1-96 samples per run, respectively.
Since the workstations transfer magnetic particles instead of liquids, they use minimal amounts of reagents, enabling cost-efficient sample preparation.
The workstations also have a small footprint and are easy to install.
BioSprint workstations come preinstalled with protocols that enable sample preparation using BioSprint Kits.
Users also have the option of writing their own protocols using the BioSprint software, allowing adaptation of the workstations to specific or changing research needs.
Qiagen will introduce a range of BioSprint Kits for use with different sample types and for purification of different types of target molecules.
The first kit available is the BioSprint DNA Blood Kit, which enables purification of genomic DNA from cells, tissue, and blood.
Kits for other sample preparation procedures, such as purification of RNA, mRNA, and protein will be available soon.
