Cellomics expands European operations through user group implementation and expanded support groups
Cellomics announces the expansion of its European training, service and support operations.
As part of this expanded European focus, Cellomics has added new people and new programmes to its repertoire of support services for Europe.
An example of new programmes being executed in Europe was seen this month (June 2005) in London where Cellomics personnel held the first-ever European user group meeting.
This meeting featured attendance by more than 60 scientists who are utilising high content screening (HCS) technologies across Europe, and included talks from five different scientists that highlighted various biological applications utilising HCS to further drug discovery and cell-based assay efforts.
In addition, Cellomics employees from both Europe and North America participated to discuss such items as biology-focused forums, effective implementation of HCS across various therapeutic groups, usability improvements, and future trends.
"Because we are a company solely focused on high content cellular analysis, this user group meeting is critical to us and our customers.
"This is the ideal forum for us to interact with our customers and give them an opportunity to share their experiences of implementing HCS to further their drug discovery efforts," says Dan Calvo, president and CEO of Cellomics.
"Our employees and customers represent the largest pool of high content screening and analysis knowledge available.
"The user group allows our customers to share valuable knowledge which will help perpetuate their successful use of HCS technology, while simultaneously helping us to better meet the needs of our customers by providing insight on future requirements".
In addition to the user group, Cellomics announces an expansion of its European sales, service and support organisation.
"New employees have been hired to help support our customers from the feasibility/evaluation stage all the way through to the assay development, training and productivity stages of HCS implementation", commented David Sharp, director, European sales and service.
"In the last year, we have doubled the size of our European-based team.
"This gives us the ability to meet the needs of our expanding customer base and provide more Europe-specific support.
"We expect that last week's user group will be the first of many such successful events for our European customers."
