Qiagen says it TurboCapture mRNA kits provide a fast and simple procedure for purifying mRNA from large numbers of cultured cell samples.
Kits are available in 8-, 96-, and 384-well formats, making them ideal for high-throughput applications such as compound screening and target validation (eg, by siRNA screening).
Rapid mRNA purification is achieved using unique oligonucleotide immobilisation technology.
Cell lysates are added to a TurboCapture strip (eight wells) or TurboCapture plate (96 or 384 wells), and mRNA is allowed to hybridise to the immobilized oligo-dT in each well.
After washing, mRNA is eluted or used directly in cDNA synthesis.
TurboCapture mRNA kits simplify the gene expression analysis workflow by allowing mRNA purification and downstream cDNA synthesis and PCR or real-time PCR in the same well.
If desired, the synthesised cDNA can be covalently linked to the well, allowing the cDNA to be reused several times.
Due to the standard plate formats and the simple workflows, TurboCapture mRNA kits can be easily automated on any robotic workstation.
mRNA purification, cDNA synthesis, and PCR can be performed in the same well, avoiding the need for sample transfer and ensuring high well-to-well reproducibility.
