Hecus X-ray systems is conducting two international projects for X-ray nanoanalysis.
The first project, a combination of X-ray camera and micro calorimeter, concerns the pharmaceutical and food industry.
The second project is aimed at top research in physics, namely femtosecond laser technology.
The first is being carried out in cooperation with a French company that specialises in calorimeters.
The official product launch will take place in two weeks time at the SAS-09 in Oxford.
A first prototype is being built in Graz for a Canadian University and should be ready for production in the next year.
Femtosecond laser technology enables super-fast atom and molecule movement to be visible in biological and synthetic materials.
Dr Peter Laggner, manager of Hecus X-ray Systems, said: 'Until now this was only possible at a few large research institutes worldwide.
'Due to the innovative combination of bright X-ray optics and compact laser technology Hecus is developing a device for 'normal' research laboratories, in collaboration with researchers and equipment manufacturers from Graz, Berlin and Gottingen,' he added.
